Hello! My name is Sarah Pederson and I am a professional mural artist serving La Crosse and surrounding communities. I place a high priority on painting what YOU want on the walls of your home or business. My passion is to create realistic, trompe l’oeil (meaning: to fool the eye) artwork, but I can paint in a variety of styles to suit your preferences, as well as your budget. Whether you have a specific idea in mind or need help developing an idea, I will work closely with you throughout the entire process. I want you to be completely in love with your unique, one-of-a-kind artwork.
In May of 2018 I completed a trompe l’oeil mural for DnA Vintners brand new wine tasting room, opening soon. There are lots of ways to interact with this mural, so come taste some of their delicious cranberry wines at 1223 Caledonia Street in La Crosse and take fun photos to share with friends!
In March of 2018, The Board of Directors for Westby Area School District approved my trompe l’oeil mural design for the Fine Arts Foundation of the Westby Area. My mural is located in the middle school commons and works it’s way toward the Star Dressing Room for the brand new Westby Area Performing Arts Center. The mural includes the names of 100 Extraordinary Women who pledged donations in memory of Carmen Armbruster. That campaign kicked off the fundraising for WAPAC.
I am incredibly honored and humbled that the Las Vegas Portrait Project selected me as an artist. I join 57 other artists who are volunteering their time, talents, and materials to honor those who lost their lives in the Las Vegas attack on Oct. 1, 2017. I painted a portrait of Jack Beaton, who died a hero protecting his wife on their 23rd wedding anniversary. Portraits will be on exhibit Sept. 17th – Oct. 19th at the Clark County Government Center in Las Vegas, with a Public Reception on October 4th. Following this exhibit, all portraits will be given to the families.
