Westby Fire Department Mural

A blue farm house is up in flames and three firemen are hosing down the flames. Water runs in rivulets across the sidewalk, past their feet and down toward their fire engine. The sun is setting and the colors of the corn and distant trees show a fall landscape. A tricycle near the porch indicates children live in the home.

The Westby-Christiana Fire Department and First Responders contacted me to paint their meeting room after they saw the murals I painted in the Coon Valley Fire Department. I was able to incorporate landscape views in the area they serve, as well as the fire fighters in action, their engine and first responder vehicle, and Med Link Air heading in to assist. The Chief had an antique lamp and fire extinguisher that I painted as realistically as I could to look like they are sitting on the ledge of the frame.
